O guitarrista Tom Morello dos Rage Against The Machine, afirmou que acredita que os Jane's Addiction, e não os Nirvana, foram a banda responsável por conduzir o "Rock para fora do deserto dos anos 80".

The Pulse of Radio noticiou que o guitarrista fez um discurso na indução do Jane's Addiction no Guitar Center RockWalk em Hollywood na última quarta-feira (01 de junho).

"Os Nirvana recebem muitas vezes crédito por terem sido a primeira banda 'alternativa' a rebentar, a banda que mudou a música", disse Morello. "Isso não é verdade, foram os Jane's Addiction: inspiradores, inteligentes, com um rock agressivo e artisticamente profundo."

Pedro Passos Coelho é o novo primeiro-ministro de Portugal, depois de, nas eleições legislativas de ontem (5 de junho), o PSD ter obtido 38,63% dos votos.
O PSD deverá agora governar com o CDS, que recebeu 11,74% dos votos. Quanto ao PS, teve a menor votação desde 1987 (28,05%); na sequência destes resultados, José Sócrates demitiu-se do cargo de Secretário Geral dos Socialistas.
A noite eleitoral arrancou com a intervenção dos Homens da Luta, em direto na televisão, saudando Pedro Passos Coelho pela vitória nas eleições.

MGMT é uma banda americana de rock psicodélico formada em 2005 no Brooklyn por Ben Goldwasser e Andrew VanWyngarden. Após o lançamento de seu primeiro álbum, os membros da sua banda ao vivo, Matthew Asti, James Richardson e Will Berman se juntaram à banda principal de estúdio. Formado na Universidade Wesleyan e originalmente com a Cantora Records, mais tarde assinaram com a Columbia Records e Red Ink em 2006.
FormaçãoBen Goldwasser e Andrew VanWyngarden formaram a banda enquanto cursavam seu primeiro ano na Universidade Wesleyan com o nome The Management. "Nós não estávamos tentando montar uma banda", comentou Goldwasser. "Nós queriamos saír para mostrar a música que gostamos." Eles experimentaram Noise Rock e Eletrônica antes de se tornarem Pop Psicodélico. Eles se formaram em 2005 e excursionaram extensivamente tocando as músicas do EP Time To Pretend, abrindo para a banda de indie rock Of Montreal.

Lollapalooza e o álbum "Congratulations"Em 8 de agosto de 2010 o MGMT se apresentou no festival estadunidense Lollapalooza, apresentado as músicas do mais recente álbum Congratulations. Foi um show não muito longo, abrindo com a música "Pieces Of What" e encerrando com a música "Congratulations". O show contou com um set-list com músicas dos dois primeiros álbuns e do primeiro EP (como MGMT).

Os norte-americanos MGMT actuam em Lisboa, na arena do Campo Pequeno, no dia 18 de Dezembro, anunciou a promotora Everything Is New.

O concerto está inserido na digressão de apresentação do novo álbum, «Congratulations», que será lançado no próximo dia 12 de Abril. O segundo disco de estúdio dos MGMT foi co-produzido por Sonic Boom, fundador dos Spacemen 3.

Aqui vai um pequeno vídeo tirado do DVD em que se pode ver o duo francês a fazer uma pequena demonstração da música "Under The Bridge", dos Red Hot Chili Peppers,ao próprio Anthony Kiedis(vocalista da banda), em que ficou bem claro que eles têm talento é com sintetizadores, mixers e coisas do género e que fazem muito bem em deixar a parte vocal para quem sabe.

A carrinha é da marca Mercedes, modelo Sprinter, de cor branca, e tem a matrícula 82-13-XH. Toda a ajuda quanto à sua localização deve ser enviada à PSP ou para Roberto Ferreira (manager da banda), cujo contacto se encontra em baixo

No seu interior encontravam-se alguma guitarras que Zé Pedro considera "relíquias", algumas suas, outras de João Cabeleira, incluindo alguns modelos personalizados.

Os Xutos e Pontapés actuam hoje à noite (sábado) em Montemor-o-Velho, socorrendo-se para isso de material emprestado.

O DVD “{Sic}Nesses” é considerado um dos últimos concertos em que o baixista Paul Gray participou, mas não só por isso ele se torna algo memorável. Imaginem 30 cameras a captar todos os ângulos da banda enquanto eles se apresentam!
O DVD ainda conta com um documentário de 45 minutos dirigido pelo percussionista da banda Shawn Crahan além de todos os vídeos produzidos para o último álbum dos Slipknot, “All Hope Is Gone” de 2008.
O lançamento ocorrerá dia 28 de Setembro.

Na semana em que chegam, pela primeira vez, ao cume do top inglês, e na semana em que se sabe que o concerto português pode estar em risco, canadianos atingem o primeiro lugar do top nacional.

O novo álbum dos Arcade Fire, The Suburbs , entrou directamente para o 1º lugar do top de álbuns da AFP, à semelhança do que já tinha acontecido em Inglaterra . O seu antecessor, Neon Bible , já esteve perto de o conseguir, tendo atingido o segundo lugar do top português.

The Suburbs destronou Symphonicities , o álbum em que Sting, acompanhado de uma orquestra, apresenta os seus êxitos a solo e os clássicos dos Police em contexto sinfónico.

Os Arcade Fire têm previsto um concerto entre nós, a 18 de Novembro, no Pavilhão Atlântico, em Lisboa. Contudo a realização da Cimeira da NATO na FIL, sita no Parque das Nações, pode colocar em risco a realização do terceiro concerto da banda canadiana em terras nacionais. Em comunicado, a empresa que gere o Pavilhão Atlântico fez saber que "as partes encontram-se actualmente a colaborar com vista a implementar medidas de contingência que permitam viabilizar a actuação dos Arcade Fire no Pavilhão Atlântico na data prevista".
